Twas' the Night Before Christmas...

I LOVE Christmas Eve. Probably more so than Christmas Day itself. My family is rich with tradition, and it seems, everything we do has some special meaning or thought put in it. We fill the day with socializing, eating (of course!), cooking, prepping, playing, gift-giving and a few other special traditions we've continued through the years. We always have a wonderful, intimate meal planned where we all eat by candlelight. My mom has candle clips that we snap on our plates and they stay lit during the whole meal- it's a German tradition. At the end of the meal, we each go around and say what we're thankful for and then blow our candle out. It always ends up being more of a testimony than anything, but it feels the night with a really warm feeling. Afterwards, the grandchildren participate in the Nativity as my dad reads it out of the scriptures. We then sing a few carols and prepare ourselves for the whirwind of gift-opening. I love the fact that even though every year it's completely predictable, the spirit of the season fills our hearts. To me, this is when everything culminates together and I truly feel the spirit of Christmas.

It's credited way way down on the right-hand menu of my blog. I need to move it up higher!!! It's from Shabby Princess - sooo cute! You download and then edit your blog template. I can get you the link for those instructions. It's not hard at all!

Cailean... I checked out Shabby Princess, but either I'm completely missing it or I'm just somewhat airheady. Could you send me the link when you have a free minute (if that exists!)? Thanks!
