The things they do...
I love bathing my kids at night. I haven't always done it, but it has become a habit probably the past year or so. I guess it comes with them getting older, playing outside more, and not wanting to put them to bed with grubby hands and feet. So, last night was like any ordinary night- well, with a few exceptions... I like to bathe the girls together. Saves on time, water and energy (mine, that is!). It's usually either a pleasant experience for all involved, or one that I just try and make it through. Last night, I just tried to make it through. The girls were fussy, tired and mommy was done, done, done... So, after Kennedy tried her darndest to wash Pieper's hair "all by myself" (thanks, sweety...), and in the meantime almost submerging her underwater, I decided it was time to end bathtime and just go straight to bedtime. Kennedy LOVES getting herself ready, so I just lay her panties and jammies out on the bed for her to do "herself." She also loves brushing her hair afterwards and putting on her favorite headband. (The girl thinks she needs to be "pretty" to go to bed!) So, picture this- I walk in to make sure she's brushing her teeth and to tell her one more time it's time for bed. I see her tosseling her (like I do) and watching observantly in the mirror. I also see the toothpaste on the counter. Hmmm.... a mom always has intuition. I knew exactly what she did. She put toothpaste in her hair "pretending" it was hair gel! Of course, when I asked her if that's what she did, she replied, "it's okay, momma, I'm just pretending." Uhhh... does that explain the glob of toothpaste in your hair then?!? Oh well... night, night, sweetie. We'll worry about that in the morning!

That's why Kennedy smelled so minty fresh today...
That sounds just like the time that Eden decided to put lotion all over face and jammies, oh yeah, and in her eyes. Pretending is so much fun!
been there, done that! gotta love the independent little things! i LOVE nighttime baths too. except we've gone to showers for both boys together. EASY breezy!
Yes, I agree...bathing them at bedtime is the best. Then putting them in their Pj's, reading stories, saying prayers, bedtime kisses and then laying him down. Clean, snuggly and sweet! It's like that everynight at my house! (If only it were true.......) :)
