I've been trying to hold off on filling up my large SUV until it was completely empty. I've been accumulating a discount through our grocery shopping at Safeway and I wanted to maximize it's benefits. It was a pleasant surprise today when I stopped to fill up and it cost under $50.00!!! Yes, it only cost me $47.10! (Now I should say that the car wasn't sucking fumes yet, but it was getting close enough to empty for me!) I paid $2.06/gallon. And that was only with a $.20 discount. Needless to say, I felt pretty darn good. So good I had to call Jake immediately and tell him. He didn't quite believe me at first. You see, we used to TAP OUT at $100.00! Ugh, how I hated paying those high prices! So, for today, I will relish in my "savings" and hope they stay this low! Because you know what, it feels pretty good saving money!

Can It Be???

Go to dinner and CELEBRATE!!!!! :)
Yah, I can think of plenty (sadly enough necessity-wise speaking) of things to put the extra $50.00 towards these days!
Wow! I've never gotten more than 10 cents off a gallon at Safeway. $2.13/gallon at Arco is the next best thing.
Wahoo! Congrats...now go increase your carbon footprint!
Cirdan and I was just talking about that! The same thing happened to me! Funny!
I know, I'm right there with you! I paid $2.19 at safeway and that was only with the normal $.03 discount, I was so excited. An extra $50.00 a week makes a big difference around here.
I too have to call Mike the other day and tell him of my great savings--it's awesome. Unfortunatly, who knows how long it will last but I am enjoying it while it does!
BTW--I commented on your last post but for some reason it wouldn't post. But congrats on the girl--that is of course super exciting. Now, I just can't wait to see what a beautiful baby she will be!
Justin couldn't believe his eyes when we saw gas for $2.21 at Safeway today. He said "That's not even with a discount". He is totally shocked at these falling gas prices. The questions is, how long will they last? I'd love to see it get below $2.00. I'm sure you can really appreciate lower gas prices with your SUV.
OMG the same thing happened to me this weekend! I took a road trip, stopped to fill my car at the 1/4 tank mark, and the pump stopped at $25 DOLLARS! I thought the pump was stuck, so I kept trying to put more in. When I got gas all over my shoes, I realized it was for real.
wow, lucky you to have the coupons! We are at $2.33 here and I think that is pretty good!
I know! It's crazy, I got so excited that it only cost me $54 to fill up the other day! Wow!
