Yep, it was. Busy, but good. Tired now? Yes, but well worth it. I guess you could say our fun started on Wednesday when Jake and I went to the Sonics game. We had GREAT seats- 2 rows back- (compliments of our good friends!) and good company. We even got a visit from the team mascot.

Thursday, Valentine's Day, the girls and I made cut-out hearts for them to decorate the house for daddy and I even pulled out some votive candles and my goblets for a romantic dinner (just the 4 of us!). We bought food for daddy's favorite- chicken fettucine, french bread, salad, sparkling grape-apple cider and chocolate-dipped strawberries for dessert. Yum-yum. Earlier in the day the girls and I picked out a singing balloon and some small gifts too. Needless to say, daddy was very surprised and happy that we put so much effort into making the day special for him. On the contrary... this was THE FIRST year he didn't do anything for me. Uh-oh. I know. Actually, I'm not a big celebrator of Valentine's day. I'd much rather receive a dozen roses unexpectedly (AND for WAY cheaper!) on any other day. Call me boring.

Friday, we started the day by going to my niece, Katy's, 5th birthday party at Super Jump Party Zone (Kennedy's favorite place!) where they had a pajama party complete with a donut-cake. Super cute.
Later that evening, we were invited to go swimming with Jake's brother and his family at a hotel they were staying at for the evening. Since the girls both had great naps that day (lucky me!), we ventured out that evening and they both had a blast. Kennedy was a little fish and just confirmed to me the fact that I'll be signing her up for swimming lessons this spring. Pieper loved the water so much too that she tried scooting back in after we changed her into her jammies. The night wasn't quite finished yet without a stop at The Cheesecake Factory for a couple cheesecakes to go. Another yum-yum!
Saturday, we jetted off fairly early in the morning to take the girls to Disney Playhouse Live at the Key Arena. The Arena was packed with about 10 million kids and 1 million adults. There was a constant chattering of children's voices in the background, but the show was lots of fun and we got visits from most our favorites- The Little Einsteins, Tigger & Pooh, Handy Manny & Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Because the weather seemingly felt a little like spring, we let the girls go on a few rides before heading back to grandmas. It was a good day for them.
Later that evening, Jake and I joined my family to celebrate my uncle's 60th birthday. We had a lovely dinner at the Newcastle Golf Course and lots of fun conversations to boot. The evening rounded out back at my parent's house for cake and celebrating with the kids. Happy Birthday, Doug!
Which leads me to tonight. Tired. Tired. And tired. Oh well, I can't complain about having TOO much fun, right?! Life gets pretty dull without a little action and this week was definitely NOT dull. Ta da!

Way too much fun! You make the rest of us look boring.
wow, what an exciting week! That is what happens when you live close to family...wish we had that!
Fun times with the kids!
That makes me tired just reading all your adventures. BTW...I'm totally with you on the valentines day thoughts...it's just not as "real" on a day that is so Hallmarky...Love how much fun you are always having. You'll have to teach us. :)
I have a love/hate relationship with those kinds of weeks. Lots of fun and excitement and lots of anxiety! I'm glad you had a great week!
Man we want you to hang out with us. Sounds like life would be a lot more fun!
Do you think you could cramb one more thing into your week end? Golly, busy busy busy. It does look like you were able to do quite a bit of fun stuff with the kids, you & Jake and the whole family...a little bit of everything. Just took a look at your pictures on your daily 100 capturing the moments- so cute! So when are you going into business? Can my kids be some of your practice shots? Matt needs some pictures taken of some of these fly rods so he can put them on his web site, maybe he should have you take them. Well, guess we will see you on Saturday.
all i can say is a big fat DITTO to wendy's comment! i went with a cheap card from walmart and called it good. we were, however, packing to leave for salt lake the next morning, so i'm KINDA off the hook...right?!
