Torchlight Run

On July 30, 20011, my good friend and running buddy, Rachael, and I ran the Seafair Torchlight Run in downtown Seattle.  Being 24 weeks and 22 weeks respectively, we felt pretty good about conquering this goal.

We arrived right as the race begin, and after a quick visit to the port-o-potty, we jumped in the pack and began the race!  A quick pre-race photo and we were off!

It was a HOT Seattle day and there were thousands of racers.
We had a goal time of 36 minutes.  The course was new and included A LOT more hills than last years.  We forged through them and soaked in all the screaming bystanders and gloated in our little pregnancy bellies.
We finished with a time of 36:11!  Although we weren't under 36 minutes, we were pretty proud we finished ahead of a lot of other runners.  We met up with our friends, who were also running, for some post-race celebrating.
What a fun evening we had!  And a stop by Panera Bread on the way home to fill our once again hungry bellies topped off the night!
