Pieper was invited to a birthday party at the Seattle's Children's Museum this past Saturday. I was a bit reluctant to go at first because Jake would be busy at work all day so that meant I'd have to make the trek all by myself with the 3 girls. But, because I'd committed to going, and I'm really trying to make sure Pieper gets equal opportunities with her friends, I packed up the girls and made the rainy trip downtown. The party was fun and the girls enjoyed seeing their friends but I think they enjoyed playing at the museum the most. It was my first time going there, but since Kennedy had just gone in December with her kindergarten class, she acted as our official tour guide. The girls loved exploring and trying out all the activities.

And while the girls ran around playing, this little one unfortunately did a lot of this because of pure logistics. Mommy only has so many hands and eyes to keep track of everyone!
We loved our time in the "cultural" section of the museum. The girls tried their hand at an Asian restaurant and learned about how other people in the world live.
But their favorite was probably their grocery shopping excursion. It was so funny how they imitate us grown-ups! Pieper had a cart FULL of food and Kennedy made sure everything was checked out properly. She took her job quite seriously.
And in the end, we took a peak at the fountain before making our way back home. What a fun day we had. I love when I can take the time to just be in the moment and have fun with them. They're getting to an age where they love learning about the things around them, so our trip over and back was filled with lots of interesting tidbits about tunnels, floating bridges and tall buildings. I love their curiousity and excitement. IT was a good day.
