Pieper's 3rd Birthday!

Pieper's 3rd birthday was yesterday the 8th. She had her first "friends" party on the previous Friday. We invited a few friends from our neighborhood/ward. Because most of them had older siblings, we had 10 little kids total. I had scheduled to have a swimming party in the backyard since we have been having such warm weather, but as luck would have it, the day of her party, it clouded up and dropped about 25 degrees. Didn't stop the kids though- they still stripped down (some of them quite literally!) and jumped in the water. We followed up the swimming with pizza, presents and a build-your-own sundae bar. Even though Pieper showed very little emotion and spent half of her time running in and out of the house changing her clothes. I'm pretty sure she had a good time and loved having a party just for her.

The day of her actual birthday, we kept it relatively low-key, inviting our good friends over for a BBQ and cake and ice-cream. Once again, the kids found their way into the pools!

Pieper's Statistics at 3-Years Old

• 35 1/2" tall
• 28 lbs.
• Eats breakfast and lunch but will not eat dinner
• Extremely picky eater
• Can turn from happy to grumpy in about 2 seconds flat
• Has perfected her scowl
• Knows the whole alphabet
• Can count to at least 14
• Recognizes some letters and numbers
• Knows most her colors
• Still sneaks into mommy and daddy's bed at least once a night
• Is about the perfect combination of sweet + sass!
