As many of you know, and for many of you that do not know, our family has been making some major changes lately. For the past 3 years, we have been self-employed running a pretty successful autobody shop. With that though comes much stress, long, long hours and a family life that is sometimes less than ideal. So, after much thought, discussion and prayer, Jake and I have decided to make a change! On March 30th, just 11 short days after Ireland was born, Jake started school full-time. Since we were first married, we'd always discussed Jake going back to school for a different career, but for one reason or another, we never made the plunge. So, seven years, three kids, one house and lots more responsibility later, we are now making that plunge! We couldn't be more excited and ready for what lies ahead. Jake is attending PIMA Medical School in Renton studying Respiratory Therapy. Yes, we know that it is completely at the opposite end of the spectrum from autobody, but Jake loves it thus far and is proving to be a really good student! I am so proud of him. We sold our bodyshop and are making all sacrifices necessary to get him through his program until he graduates in December 2010. We figure it's never too late to get in on the "starving student" program! We know that the Lord will bless us in our efforts to do the right thing for our family. We are both very excited about the possibilities that lie before us and this new chapter in our life. Wish us luck!

Welcome aboard! It's never too late. We've been doing the school thing for a few years. Trying to juggle it all can be stressful but I keep telling myself that their IS light at the end of the tunnel and it WILL BE worth it! I'm glad he's excited, doing well and enjoying it!
p.s. I just noticed that you changed your blog title to 'The Jackson Five'. That's hilarious!!! :)
That's so great. I'm excited for you guys. If you need anything let us know :)
I feel your pain sister! It can get pretty crazy at times, but just remember..."This too shall pass!" If you ever need to vent, give me a call, we just finished school for the third time! :)

I am really excited for you guys! It will all be worth it in the end. At least you arent alone with the saving money and cutting back and in this economy.
I am so excited for you guys! I think it will be such a great career for Jake. There will always be a need for RT's. I would love to stop by and see the baby sometime. 2 weeks to go for me......
Good for you guys, best wishes with everything and with all of your family & personal endevors. Following the Spirit sometimes requires much faith not knowing the complete out-come or even at times exactly why we are inspired to do things, but the Lord knows what he is doing and if we trust in him everything will end up working out how & when it's supposed to.
Congrats! That's awesome!
Wow, Sarah! What an amazing journey and family decision! I am sure Jake feels like a fish out of water, but what a great experience! Good luck you guys!!
