Willkommen in Leavenworth!

Our family loves Leavenworth. We've been going there for years- since I was a kid. We used to go mainly in December for the Festival Lighting, but in latter years, we've started going during the summer and it is great! The whole clan (minus my sister and her family in California) met up for a few days of relaxation and fun together. Day 1 started off with a round of golf for the guys and the ladies and children swimming.

The day ended with us ramsacking the local Subway for dinner and a pretty informative FHE by my mom and our Pieper heritage (Pieper, our daughter's name, comes from my great-great-grandfather who is from Germany and is a pioneer in the gospel for my family).

Day 2 started with an never-disappointing breakfast at The Enzian.

We then took over the town with some very satisfying shopping!

The kids had a blast running around the plaza and up and down "the hill" in town.

My niece, Brittany, and I then snuck off for a fun little photoshoot. She was the perfect model.

Afterwards, we all conviened at the pool again and the guys started a rousing game of football/basketball. No injuries to report.

The kids were shriveled up raisins with bright faces of pink by time they decided to get out. Pieper turned into our little fearless fish jumping into the pool sometimes without warning.

We rounded out the night with a yummy dinner at Gustav's and the 9:30 showing of The Dark Night (thanks to mom for watching the little ones!).

Day 3 started again with another yummy breakfast and a quick swim in the indoor pool. We then gathered up our things and everyone departed their separate ways. Not anxious to get home to our daily routine, we stopped at a local fruit and vegetable stand and petting zoo. The girls enjoyed petting the animals and we picked up some fresh fruit and treats for the ride home.

It was a good trip.
