On August 25th, despite the rain, thunder and lightning, Cousin's Camp 2008 was a HUGE success! Our theme this year was Pirates and the kids loved it. Because of timing, or lack thereof, instead of doing an over-nighter, we did a day camp. Everyone arrived a little before noon-time and started the day with grandma's famous pancakes and homemade jam. Once all the cousins arrived, they quickly changed into their "pirate garb." These were a hit amongst all the kids.
We then had a slew of crafts and activities planned that included an under-water sea bottle, sand-in-a-bottle, soap making, a relay race that included walking the plank and gold coin diving. The day finished with an indoor scavenger hunt thanks to the rain.
