We took a quick trip to Portland early in the summer. Jake had some small business to do there so we jumped at the opportunity to go visit my aunt Sandy & uncle Doug.
We were spoiled with their hospitality. Upon arrival and after feeding us a delicious lunch, we quickly loaded up in their boat for a tour of the Willamette river. It was a hot weekend, so being out on the water felt so good.
We parked at one of their favorite beaches and the girls jumped at the opportunity to jump in the water- clothed and all!
And of course, this little guy was very content to just sit and throw rocks. He's so easily entertained. I love it.
We saw all sorts of cool things but spotted this pelican on the way back.
The next day we ventured to a fabulous park near their home for a quick hike and then some serious playtime in the splash park. It was 103 degrees that day so we were all very anxious to cool off.
We had such a great time visiting and getting away. Not often do we get the chance to enjoy Sandy & Doug's company all.to.ourselves. It was fabulous and might just be one of our favorite "get-away" places now!
