Celebrating ME!

This will be a hard birthday to beat. It was such a great day! Of course, I had the usual daily routine to deal with, but once we got Kennedy on the bus and off to school, Jake, Pieper, Ireland and myself headed to a local bakery for a hot breakfast. After breakfast, Jake left for school and I ran Pieper to preschool. Ireland and I had 2 1/2 hours just to ourselves so we went shopping! We went to my favorite store- TJ Maxx. We mostly browsed, but found a few items worthy to take home. And to top it off, the sales clerk helping me said I looked "so young" to have three kids. I said "thank you" since it WAS my birthday and getting older is never that much fun!

Later that day, once Jake was done with school and Kennedy off the bus, we loaded up the girls and took them to grandma and grandpa's for a sleepover. They were so excited and made sure we were "not staying."

Jake and I headed into Seattle for an early reservation at The Metropolitan Grill. It was divine. The ambiance, service and food was fabulous.

And no silly sombreros or waiters singing off tune. Just a scrumptious dessert that we were able to pick out ourselves. We settled on a peach crisp. So good.

After we were done, we headed uptown to the Paramount Theater for the show, "Burn the Floor." The show was spectacular. The music, dancing and singing was top-notch. During intermission, we snuck pictures of ourselves to pass the time.

This is the best we got... :)

We were both super excited to come home and sleep through the whole night without any kids finding their way in. It was a little strange sleeping in and waking up to a VERY quiet house, but it felt great after such a busy day before. The girls had a blast with grandma and grandpa and we had a blast just spending time together.
THIS will definitely be hard to beat!

Sounds like a great way to spend a special one, makes me wishing my parents lived closer...it's so nice to drop off the kiddos for the night w/o any worries to enjoy a little adult time every now and then! You do look great and you are still young! Glad you had a good one!
