We had a very quiet, wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We decided to spend it alone and it turned it to be one of our favorites. We had a leisurely morning, watching the parade and tinkering around the house getting things prepped. The girls did a few crafts and made their very own turkey hats. Jake was in charge of the turkey and I managed everything else. We kept things pretty simple, but did enjoy all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings. Jake even made his favorite cherry pie.
After all the prep, we tried to spend as much time at the table enjoying each other's company and dinner. We each took turns saying what we were thankful for in each person and in general. It was sweet and fun to hear what the girls had to say.
After our bellies were full, we snuggled up to watch a Christmas show and enjoy dessert a bit later. And, of course, tackle the mounds of dishes even our small family seemed to dirty... a very happy Thanksgiving indeed.
