Christmas Day

The girls had been anticipating Christmas for months and weeks beforehand. The day had finally arrived! They were so excited. Thankfully, late nights and busy days led them to sleeping in until 8:30. Thinking they'd come straight into our room, demanding to go downstairs, they didn't! I, instead, heard them PLAYING in their room. Did they forget what day it was?!? Rest assured though, they did not. Eventually they made it into our room and we convinced them to wait until 9 am before heading downstairs to see what Santa had brought them.

Oh, the suspense was killing them!
I always love seeing their bright eyes full of wonder and magic as they come around the corner and see all the gifts. They, traditionally, go through their stockings first. This year, having learned from years past, I took time to capture some pictures before the tearing of the wrapping paper began.

And, as always, the girls were well-loved by Santa. They must have been good girls this past year.

Kennedy received roller skates, an "American Girl" (or look-alike!) doll and a small doll suitcase for her doll clothes. Pieper received a "Bitty Baby" (or look-alike!), baby-doll pram and a small suitcase for her doll clothes. Ireland received an adorable rocking chair and singing mailbox.

Christmas was very simple this year and I loved it. It was a good year indeed.
